BECOME A "CLOSET FOR GOOD" . . . GIVER FOR GOOD!!

Help raise needed funds for Family-to-Family by donating collectibles to F-to-F’s “Closet for Good” eBay online resale shop… our new community-based fund-raising initiative..

How It Works: There are two ways to participate:

  • One, donate items from your own home. You gather up small- to medium-sized collectibles you no longer need that are in perfect or near-perfect condition – things like vintage toys or jewelry, art work, designer handbags, pottery, etc. – pack them up and send them to Family-to-Family.
  • Two, become a Family-to-Family “Closet for Good” local representative. Ask your friends and neighbors for donations. Tell them you are looking for collectibles that may be gathering dust in their attic or just no longer needed. Explain that you are raising money for a grassroots, national hunger relief organization. After you’ve collected the donated items, box them and send them to us at:
Family-to-Family
“Closet for Good” Re-Sale Shop
6 Circle Drive
Hastings on Hudson, N.Y. 10706

(Please include only things that are of some value . . . and no clothing, or large or very heavy items. Any questions about what’s appropriate, email Pam Koner at famtofamily@aol.com)

We’ll organize the items we receive, photograph them, and list them for sale on eBay in our “Closet for Good” online store. After they’re purchased, we’ll ship them to the buyer, and the profits will go to Family-to-Family. Your donation of goods can be taken as a tax deduction. (Please include your name and address so we can mail you a tax deduction slip.)

How raised funds will be used: With a weakening economy, increasing numbers of Americans find they don’t have enough money to keep food on the table. Our goal is to expand our reach to help more of these American families in both the communities we serve and other needy communities.

To date, Family-to-Family is unfunded and has been operating as a mainly volunteer organization. In order to expand, some funding is needed for expenses such as new and current community site visits, holiday meals, emergency food costs and general operating expenses.

Closet for Good is registered with MissionFish, the eBay organization that helps registered non-profit charities fundraise.
