NEW ORLEANS FOOD PANTRY PROJECT
With the oil disaster hitting the Gulf Coast hard, and many fishing related jobs lost, we anticipate even more need in the already devastated 9th ward of New Orleans.
Working jointly with the company AVANT, F-to-F is building a community food pantry inside the All Soul's Episcopal Church in New Orleans.
Funds raised on our website will be used to transform a room in the church into a pantry and to stock it for a year. The pantry will be specifically geared towards young, single mothers, with formula and diapers available as well as food. According to Pastor Wright of the All Soul's Episcopal Church, there are still 50 families needing help in his parish.
Donated funds will also go towards the creation of 4 Victory Gardens complete with chickens for the community, so residents will have access to fresh vegetables and eggs.
Volunteers from AVANT are heading to New Orleans the last week of July to build the pantry, as well as 4 chicken coops, with donated funds. Please help make this happen by supporting their efforts with your donation.
Any amount will help . . .
